Purpose and Acceptance of Policies

This document outlines the official policies, terms, and conditions governing all programs offered by Foundation 7 Music School. These policies are designed to ensure a safe, structured, respectful, and effective learning environment for all students.

By completing the online registration and selecting "I agree to the Terms and Conditions," parents, guardians, and adult students acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these policies.

Course Information

Age Eligibility

Foundation 7 Music School provides instruction to:

  • Children aged 4 years and older
  • Adults of all ages

Note: The duration for Violin and Steelpan courses may vary depending on instruction nature, assessment outcomes, and student progress.

Ongoing Classes: For ongoing programs, advancement is determined by periodic assessment. Duration at each level may vary based on comprehension, consistency, practice habits, and readiness to progress.

Specialized Programs

Fees and scheduling for Steelpan classes and online Violin classes are determined separately.

Parents and students are required to contact the school office for current rates and availability prior to enrollment.

Payment Policy

  • All payments must be made on or before the commencement of classes
  • Monthly payments are due by the first week of each month
  • Registration fees are included in the stated course costs
  • ALL FEES ARE STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE, regardless of attendance, withdrawal, or discontinuation

Failure to meet payment obligations may result in suspension of classes until the account is brought up to date.

Attendance and Make-Up Class Policy

Student Absences

  • Regular attendance is essential for progress and is the responsibility of the student and/or parent or guardian
  • If a student is unable to attend a scheduled class without providing notice, the school is not obligated to offer a make-up class, credit, or fee adjustment

Excused Absences

  • If a reasonable excuse is provided at least 24 hours in advance, the possibility of rescheduling will be considered at the sole discretion of the school
  • Approval depends on instructor availability
  • Approval of a make-up class is not guaranteed

School-Initiated Cancellations

If Foundation 7 Music School cancels a class for any reason, the session will be made up at a later date or rescheduled in consultation with the student and instructor.

Class Schedule

Saturday Classes

8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

1 to 1½ hours

Weekday Classes

3:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Once per week

Class times are assigned based on enrollment capacity, instructor availability, and operational considerations.

Student Progress and Learning Outcomes

Foundation 7 Music School is committed to providing high-quality instruction and structured learning experiences. Student progress depends on several factors:

Consistent attendance

Access to required instrument

Regular practice outside class

Individual aptitude & pace

Adherence to instructor guidance

While every reasonable effort is made to support student development, specific outcomes or levels of mastery cannot be guaranteed.

Student Conduct and School Rules

To maintain a safe and respectful environment, all students are expected to adhere to the following rules:

  • No use of profanity, abusive language, or inappropriate behavior
  • No possession of weapons, illegal substances, or dangerous items
  • Respect for instructors, staff, fellow students, and school property
  • Compliance with all classroom and facility guidelines

Violations Policy: Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or removal from the program. No refunds or credits will be issued in cases of suspension or removal due to misconduct.

Parental Involvement and Communication

Parents and guardians are encouraged to support their child's learning; however:

  • Parents are respectfully asked not to interfere with lessons or disrupt instructional time
  • All concerns, questions, or requests must be directed through administrative personnel, not instructors during class sessions

This policy ensures a focused learning environment and consistent communication.

Liability and Assumption of Risk

Participation in all Foundation 7 Music School programs is at the student's own risk.

The school shall not be held liable for accidental injury, loss, or damage to personal property, except where liability is imposed by the laws of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

Governing Law

These policies and all related enrollment agreements shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

Policy Amendments

Foundation 7 Music School reserves the right to amend or update these policies as necessary. Updated policies will be made available to enrolled students and parents/guardians.
